Our History
Quite an adventure!
Choshuenco Experience was born from the dream of Karina Putz, a young woman from Traiguén with a passion for the mountains. After working in the Huilo Huilo Reserve and facing the pandemic, she turned difficulties into opportunities, creating the first mountain tourism agency in Neltume in 2020. Today, it promotes adventure, nature, and sustainability year-round.

We love adventure — we are passionate about the mountains, the water, and the forest, because we are deeply moved by the place we live in and by our planet.
As we explore the corners of our commune, we connect with the land and feel the magic that surrounds us!
We are physically located in the Los Ríos Region, commune of Panguipulli, in the small and beautiful village of Neltume, surrounded by ancient forests, hills, rivers, lakes, natural hot springs, and the majestic Mocho-Choshuenco Volcano.
Today, we not only offer guided activities, but also equipment rentals, souvenir sales, and vehicle transfers.
Among our experiences, we have a variety of established tours such as Mountain Biking, Kayak Expeditions, Trekking, Mountaineering, Skiing, and many family-friendly activities.
Here we provide all the necessary safety equipment and gear for each experience.
We also design special programs tailored to you and your group, according to your interests and needs.
The founder of this innovative project in the commune of Panguipulli is a young dreamer, deeply passionate about Chile’s mountains and glaciers.
Originally from Traiguén, in the Araucanía Region —a land of volcanoes and breathtaking landscapes— she was inspired by her father and brother to climb Villarrica Volcano for the first time at just 11 years old.
One day, Kari arrived at the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve, where she worked happily for seven months, falling more in love each day with this earthly paradise known as Neltume. A lover of her work and the place she chose to call home, she decided to continue pursuing her dreams and expand her horizons after the temporary closure of Huilo Huilo due to the pandemic that severely affected Chile and the world.
Despite those challenging times, our founder’s determination and passion for adventure led her to become independent and turn that difficult moment without work into a great opportunity.
By selling hand-painted mugs and caps, and working occasionally as a nurse, she managed to start her tourism agency project in the middle of the pandemic — welcoming her first clients in October 2020.
She began by renovating the small house she was renting to create her first office. Through hard work, dedication, and love, she built a warm and inviting space where she offered her first activity: the Ascent to Mocho-Choshuenco Volcano, becoming the first local agency in Neltume to offer mountain activities.
After a difficult year of lockdowns, the agency managed to stay afloat and gain recognition.
That genuine energy and her desire to stay connected with nature made everything work, allowing visitors to enjoy their first summer season discovering the beauty of outdoor life.
Today, Choshuenco Experience continues to grow — improving its facilities and building a small office on its own land to welcome visitors eager for adventure.
The agency now operates year-round, offering a wide range of activities for both families and athletes. It has a qualified team of guides for each experience and welcomes interns from different fields every summer.
Neltume, a small town of about 4,500 inhabitants, is surrounded by the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve — a truly magical place, a corner of the world that inspires connection with simplicity and nature.
It’s a place that has allowed the company to share the gifts that life and the planet offer us every day.
The agency hopes to break the strong seasonality of the area, endure over time, and preserve its essence.
